The Boots Are Made For Walking…
It’s been chilly here in Florida, which is always a welcome surprise. For the most part our winters are a perfect 70 degrees, so when the temps get into the forties we all get a little excited about breaking out our “winter clothes”.
But before you roll your eyes at me because you are currently in schlepping it through sub 10 degree temperatures, just know THIS is us Floridians’ time to shine. It’s all fun and games until May rolls around and we are a collective stinky, sweaty mess with seatbelt buckle burns and frizzy hair. So just give us this one little moment to shine! 😉
Surprisingly Amazing Over the Knee Boots…
I recently ordered these boots from Nordstrom hoping to find something that would be both warm and walk-able for an upcoming trip, and I instantly fell in love. This actually came as a surprise because I have THE hardest time with boots and over-the-knee boots felt like a huge risk! I was a dancer for 16 years, from the ages 3-19, and my hours of pliés and pirouettes have made my calves permanently prominent, so boots are not usually my go-to… Usually, zipping them over my calves is a struggle. But after a little research I found these boots (under $100 and come in two colors!!) that not only have stretch to them but they also had a lace up back… so I ordered them!
As soon as they came in I slipped them on and thought YES. Finally, a boot that is not only comfortable, but also super chic and…. Warm! I took them out for their official first spin on Monday and I’ve gotta tell you, they are amazing and totally make you feel sexy in a way that only an over the knee boot can!
The Perfect Sweater Dress
I wore the boots over thick tights with this amazing lightweight turtle neck sweater dress ($45 and comes in three colors!) and loved the look so much. I think I can just as easily wear them over a pair of thick leggings or even skinny jeans, making them an excellent city shoe.
Also, while we are on the topic of what to wear with our new boots, I have to tell you that this sweater dress is legitimately one of the comfiest things I own. Although, I will tell you that I am 5’8” and I felt like it may be a little too short to wear with bare legs, but over thick tights or leggings it’s a total dream. Not at all thick or bulky and I love the no-fuss look of it. Just toss it on, zip up those boots, and boom… you have a LOOK.
Oh, and as a side note, if you are like me and find almost every shoe to be uncomfortable, order these heal and these arch cushions in bulk. I pretty much put them in every shoe I own, and it turns all shoes into slippers!
