It's all about the snacks (and SPF!)

Sponsored by Walmart. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Now that Summer is right around the corner all I can think about is the beach! We are so fortunate to live so close to the ocean, but in years past we’ve only made it there a handful of times each Summer, which seems a little silly to be honest! So, this year, we’ve made a pact to have more beach days!

One of the best things about a beach day is the prep. I love organizing everything and getting ready for a day of fun in the sun, or in my case… under an umbrella with heavy SPF on, ha! But either way, I love the pomp and circumstance and it always makes me so happy! My favorite is throwing together little beach lunch picnics and making sure there’s enough snacks to go around. Much like a road trip, snacks for a beach vacay are VERY important. This past week as we were making our way to Miami for the weekend we swung by Walmart and picked up a couple of our favorite go-tos like Sun Chips (omg, why are they so good!?), Grapefruit bubly sparkling water, Cliff Bars, trail mix, and of course fresh fruit! Shopping for beach snacks is just way more fun than shopping for regular snacks, am I right?!

Giving Back - Provide A Meal To Someone in Need

Also, you’re in luck if you read last week’s blog post about throwing a picnic that gives back, because Walmart’s Fight Hunger, Spark Change campaign is still going on! So this weekend while you are thinking about your beach snacks, head on over to Walmart and shop their Fight Hunger selection. By purchasing any of the participating items between now and May 20th, 2019, Walmart will donate $0.10 per item to Feeding America® – enough to secure at least 1 meal on behalf of a local food bank!

1 in 8 struggles with food insecurity (that’s over 40 million Americans!). Those are people in our cities, towns, and communities, hurting and in need. This is such a simple way we can together make a big difference for our neighbors. And just to think, by purchasing one bag of chips or a pack of bubly water you and I will be securing a meal for someone who really needs it.

***So this week, let’s help Walmart in their fight against hunger! Plan a beach day for your friends and family using Walmart’s Spark Change product selection.***
