The Best Foundations in Order of Coverage

wearing: GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY Luminous Silk Foundation // Mango Dress //San Diego Hat Co. Hat

Full Coverage to Tinted Moisturizer

Foundation can be tricky. It’s hard enough to find the RIGHT shade let alone the right amount of coverage. Honestly, it’s confusing. But below is a list of my favorite foundations in order of coverage, depending on your mood!

Hopefully this list helps the next time you are looking for foundation.

Also, as a side note, no one ever said you couldn’t mix foundations! So feel free to be a rebel and mix away. I do this all the time!

Full Coverage

Hour Glass Seamless Foundation

Now, this foundation doesn’t mess around. It’s FULL coverage people. Like you are painting on a canvas. Although I will say that the finish is beautiful. But I only ever use this mixed in with tinted moisturizer or in with my regular sheer coverage foundation if I’m going to be photographed all day.

Medium Coverage

LANCÔME Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation

Okay, so this foundation has been a favorite of mine for years and years. I love this foundation because it really has a flawless finish and just sits on your skin so nicely. Also, it has SPF in it which you know makes me so so so happy!

You cannot go wrong with this one.

Light Coverage

GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY Luminous Silk Foundation

This is my favorite foundation of the moment, I cannot begin to say enough amazing things about it. Truthfully the coverage is very light, but it’s definitely build-able, which I’m into! Also, the finish on this one will make your skin glow… but not in a shiny way. Once you Giorgio, you won’t go back.

And like I said above, I am all about mixing foundations. So if I need a little extra oomph, I’ll mix in one of the ones above!

Sheer Coverage

Laura Mercier – Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – Oil Free

I live for a good tinted moisturizer and this is my O.G. Since I live in Florida I practically live in this, and most days this is what I’m wearing. And if I need it, I’ll add a pump of the above foundation mixed in for a teeny bit more coverage.

Tinted moisturizer is great for evening out your skin and giving it a glow. I always feel my best when I’m wearing just a bit of this!

Also, just as an FYI, I think the Oil Free version is the best.

Hi Ashley! Love your adorable videos! Quick question if you don’t mind… you know what toner colors your hair stylist uses on your hair after she highlights? I have very fair skin like you and really like your highlight color. Also, thank you for sharing your thoughts on favorite foundations. Sometimes it’s nice to try something different….like a new pair of shoes! ☺️ Kindest regards……

      Hi Monica!

Thank you so much, you are so kind! And we actually don’t tone my hair (as far as I know!). I’ll ask next time though!
