Last week Ryan and I took another day trip to the coast, but this time we went West! It has been such a long time since either of us have been to St. Pete and we were craving a little sunshine. Also, I’ve been wanting to visit the Don Cesar hotel for a while now and thought what-the-heck, let’s just go for the day and check it out!
We packed up our laptops, camera equipment, and I loaded the car up with snacks for the day. It was so much fun! Honestly, we didn’t do anything fancy and didn’t even stay at the hotel… We just did a little exploring, which is kind of like window shopping, but the hotel version! Ha! But oh my gosh it’s so pretty. We really enjoyed our morning just taking in the grounds, the beach, and all that PINK! We are definitely planning a little mini vacation sometime soon… it was too pretty to leave!
I ended up wearing one of my new favorites, this gingham Lauren Ralph Lauren dress from Macy’s, and I loved every second of it. Truthfully I’ve fallen hard for the Lauren Ralph Lauren line and have quite a few pieces in my closet, like this bag, which I use weekly.
But back to the dress… the midi length is lovely (also, it comes in petite as well!) and provides the perfect twirl! Plus, the fit is practically perfect. I’m wearing a 4 regular and there was 0 alterations needed, which basically never happens. As soon as I slipped it on I knew it would quickly become a favorite this Spring and Summer! I will definitely be packing this dress for many beach trips to come!
I paired the dress with these espadrilles, which are insanely comfortable, a light denim jacket, and this handbag (which holds the world!). And of course, I topped it off with a scarf tied as a headband! I’ve been loving adding headbands back into heavy rotation lately and my favorite way to do it is with scarves.
The best thing about using a scarf as a headband is that you can later use it traditionally around your neck, or tied on your handbag! It’s the accessory that just keeps on giving.
Also, I can’t wrap up this post without calling out the light blue denim jacket! I’m a traditional denim jacket lover and during the warmer months always have one nearby to throw on over a sundress… but this color was just too fun to pass up! I love that it isn’t a harsh denim and is a bit softer and more feminine. SUCH a great find!
