The Cloister at Sea Island
Heaven on Earth
It’s no secret that Ryan and I love Sea Island. It’s definitely on our top list of places we’ve vacationed over the years. The hospitality, the casual luxury, the food, and the elegant aesthetic make it really hard to top! It truly is heaven on earth.
We’ve been to Sea Island two times now and each time we have fallen more in love with the place. We go through seasons for work when we are traveling a lot and I am always the first to get home-sick, missing the comfort of our home and routine, but at Sea Island… that seems to never happen!
If we brought Dolly, I don’t think I would be able to leave.
This year we stayed at The Cloister, which is the main hotel. A few years ago we stayed at the Beach Club, which is equally as lovely… and more family friendly! If you are planning a trip I don’t think you can go wrong, but I will say I absolutely LOVED staying at the main hotel. Such an easy walk to coffee in the morning.
Each morning we would wake up and walk to what we called “the blue room” for hot coffee and pastries. It became our ritual and we so easily fell into waking up and enjoying our coffee in this beautiful sunroom with the sound of the sweet birds chirping. I can’t even begin to explain to you how idyllic it is.
If for nothing else, go for coffee in the sunroom. It’s worth it.
There is genuinely so much to see and do on the island, like boating, tennis, golfing, beach, clay shooting, and more. But the two things we really wanted to test out this trip was The Spa and indoor pool.
I’d heard that the spa was the out of this world, but had never been, and OH. MY. GOSH. it really and truly was. I enjoyed one of the best massages of my life and the spa itself was like being in another world completely. Absolutely unreal.
And across from the spa is the gym and indoor pool. Guys, I was not expecting the pool area to be THIS beautiful. I mean, are you kidding me!?!??!?!?!? I felt like my eyeballs were failing me. It’s so pretty it doesn’t seem real.
HOW in the world did we miss all of this the last time we were here?!
I could go on for pages and pages of all the little things about this island and property that make it special, and trust me I still have SO much more content to share in the upcoming weeks. But hands down our favorite night of the entire trip was an evening where Ryan and I brought a special bottle of wine to The Lodge to watch the sunset while the bag piper played (so amazing!). I think it will go down as one of our favorite date nights ever.
This place is incredibly special, if you have the opportunity to go, do. It’s impossible to regret an evening on Sea Island.
