Rush: A Novel by Lisa Patton

This is one of those books that just sticks with you. I read Rush: A Novel last year during the Fall and could not put it down, so I know you will love it too. This story is rich and deep filled with unlikely friendships, boldness, and courage. If you read one book this year, let this be it. Lisa Patton completely outdid herself with this one, and now I can't wait for you to read along and get just as inspired! xo, Ashley Brooke

What It's About
Rush is a smart, thoughtful novel detailing the sorority rush experience from several perspectives. Lilith Whitmore and Wilda are former members, now advisors, whose daughters are going through recruitment for the first time. Cali Watkins is a potential new member lacking the traditional pedigree she thinks is required to join any chapter. And Miss Pearl is the housekeeper at Alpha Delta Beta who has taken care of the girls there for twenty five years. When a new opportunity for Pearl is squashed by Lilith Whitmore the girls of Alpha Delt seek to make things right and potentially up-end the greek system forever.

It can be rare to really enjoy a book that also has important things to say and Rush is that rare brand of book magic. It is heartwarming, encouraging, and so thought provoking. I hope you'll read along--this book is one of my all time favorites!

As an Ole Miss sorority girl, I have a rather large soft spot in my heart for this book. It fosters really important conversations about Ole Miss and Southern society as a whole while perfectly articulating the positive things that can come out of a sorority! I absolutely love this one!
