Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave
While cleaning out my bookshelf a few weeks ago I found my well-loved copy of Eight Hundred Grapes and instantly got wrapped back up in this story. It’s warm, and real, about a family that you can’t help but fall in love with à la Brothers and Sisters (one of my favorite shows of all time). For me this book is the epitome of a cozy Fall read, so uncork your favorite bottle of wine and get comfortable, because this story is one you’ll want to savor.
One week before her wedding Georgia Ford finds herself at a bar in her hometown wearing her wedding dress. After receiving some shocking information about her fiancé at a rather inopportune time, Georgia high tales it out of Los Angeles and drives north to her family’s winery where she has always felt at home. But home has a few secrets of its own and everyone has to come to terms with what to do with what they know and figure out how to move forward together.

Why We Chose It:
This story about family, love, loss, and a life well lived has been one of my favorites for years! If you are looking for a Fall book that gives you all the small town feels along with family drama and unexpected love, this one’s for you!

This book feels like the perfect Fall read. While I love the dynamics of the Ford family, the setting in Sonoma County California is maybe my favorite character–it has me jones-ing for a trip to wine country!
I was sold on this read the second I discovered the strong themes of family and wine! I know you will love these characters & their stories right as we settle into Fall.
