Good Morning & Happy Monday!
Here is just a peek at what I was up to this weekend…
Photo 1: Groceries (Delivered!)
We spent all of last week at my family’s cabin in Blue Ridge, GA to celebrate the July 4th Holiday, which was amazing as usual! To be honest, I was a little nervous. Together with some extended family, at one point there were 17 of us there. With that many people in one remote cabin, things can get a little tricky. Ha, 3 bathrooms + 17 people, it’s a wonder any of us were ever clean! It ended up being a total blast, even when we had to draw straws to see who’s turn it was to shower!
On Saturday morning Ryan and I said our goodbyes, packed the car, and started our 9 hour drive back to Florida! About two hours into the drive the reality of laundry, unpacking, grocery shopping, yard work, prep for the work week etc… hit me like a ton of bricks and I started getting anxious!
I love to travel, but the getting home and “getting your life put back together” always gives me jitters! I’m one of those people (to a fault) who needs all the laundry and house work to be done so that I can sit down at my desk and think. And to be honest with you, I wasn’t sure my “MUST DO BEFORE MONDAY” list was even possible.
That’s when I remembered Shipt from a conversation a girlfriend a few weeks ago. I was in the middle of meal planning from the passenger’s seat and realized I could order groceries and have them delivered 30 minutes after we were set to arrive back home. I’m not lying, I signed up right then and there and made my first order. It was MAGICAL. 5:30pm right on the dot, Marco (our Shipt shopper!) delivered all 44 items right to our door. It was all I could do not to hug him, although I did jump up and down after he left, so there’s that.
I was able to unpack my suitcase, get the laundry going AND to whip up a healthy fresh meal for dinner. Honestly, that NEVER happens on the days we return from a trip. Not to mention that it totally saved us Sunday morning! Neither Ryan or I can pass go before coffee and at least and egg or two (seriously, it’s not pretty!) in the morning. There was nothing quite like waking up on Sunday morning to a refrigerator stocked with eggs and cream for our coffee.
Seriously friends, if you haven’t already jumped on the Shipt bandwagon, you need too!
*Not even a little bit sponsored. I’m just obsessed.
Photo 2: Sunday Morning Blooms
On Sunday morning, after an extra hot cup of coffee on the couch, we put on our Sunday best and headed out the door for church. But as we were walking out our back door, I couldn’t get over how pretty our porch looked, so I snapped a quick photo. The night before there was a storm (no rain, just wind and thunder?!?!) and it blew pretty pink petals from our (still unplanted, don’t worry it’s on THE list!) bougainvillea. Gosh, is there anything prettier than bougainvillea petals? I almost don’t want to plan them, I love being able to move them around our porch and see the petals blow around.
Photo 3: Dressing the Walls
On Sunday afternoon we embarked on the daunting task of hanging a gallery wall. Honestly, gallery walls are hard, like bang your head against the wall hard. But yesterday we had so much fun installing our wall because I am a crazy person and mocked up the entire thing in photoshop (down to the inch!)! So after the initial, “does this look right? Are we doing this right? Is this even level?” It was a breeze! This is our first all art non-personal photo gallery wall in our home and I am so excited with the way it turned out! It’s both modern and traditional and brings in ALL the color without looking like a preschool class room. I am dying to show you the whole thing, but after we finished hanging everything up, we decided that now we are going to take it all down and re-paint the walls… so I’ll get back to you on that. #ITNEVERENDS!!!!!
