We totally unplugged this weekend. I even turned off my phone on Saturday for most of the day and it honestly felt liberating! I know it’s not really a “novel” idea, but it always feels so good to have a “reset day” and step away from all the noise.
For the most part we just spent the weekend at home doing our favorite things, cooking, house work, reading, napping, watching movies, and playing with Dolly! We even ended up taking Dolly to our neighborhood dog park for the first time on Saturday and she L-O-V-E-D it. I can’t believe we had never taken her before. Now she knows the words “dog park” and I don’t think our lives will ever be the same, ha!
Although we did take a break from our off-the-grid weekend on Saturday night and hit the town! We headed out to one of our favorite spots in Winter Park, Prato, for a martinis and pasta… and then made a spontaneous decision to stop at Market on South on our way home for our favorite vegan desserts.
On Sunday after church we had brunch at New General (oh my gosh, the Buddha Bowl is so good!) and came home for more of the same!
It was such a lovely weekend and taking some real time off gets me so excited to get back into the swing of things come Monday! I’m already looking forward to the week ahead.
5 Things I’m Loving:
Planning for Paris?
My girlfriend Meghan from Wit & Whimsy just launched her Paris, Perfected travel guide. “It’s a planning service that is personalized based on your preferences for when you travel and it provides special details and tips,” and I’m ALL FOR IT! When Ryan and I went to Paris years ago we had NO idea what we were doing. We went on a total whim! Even though our trip was wonderful, this would have been SO HELPFUL! Also, it’s just $25.
Ankle Cropped Denim
I’m doing a sponsored post later this week with Talbots but I can’t wait that long to tell you about this pair of denim. I’ve been a LONG time lover of Talbots denim, their *cringe, ugh I hate this word* Jeggings are AMAZING. I have them in gray, white, black, and dark wash. But I just got their new straight Ankle denim in and I’m OBSESSED. They aren’t as stretchy as the Jeggings, but they are just as good. I’d size down, but I promise you will love them. So chic. I have them in the medium and the color is GREAT.
Rothy’s Slip-on Sneakers
Rothy’s sent me a pair of their new slip-on sneakers and I’m very into them! I actually think I like them better than their ballet flats. So comfortable and easy to wear, I actually wish I would have had them earlier! I’ve been running errands and taking Dolly for walks in them. Also they’re true to size (I know their sizing can be tricky) and a perfect fit!
