The Sweetest Weekend
It really was just the sweetest weekend. Late Friday afternoon we received a call from our Oncologist letting us know that the pathology report from Ryan’s surgery last Monday was clear (read here to catch up on our story!). We burst into tears! To say it was the happiest day would be a complete understatement. We pretty much cried tears of joy for the next 24 hours. And to make the news sweeter, 3 of Ryan’s brothers were in town along with their families, so we were able to celebrate and “group hug” all weekend long.
And just when we thought we had cried all the happy tears we could, we walked into church on Sunday morning, our first time back since May, and the little kids had made Ryan a big poster and sang him a little “Cancer Free” song, so we cried yet again! (watch it on my highlights, it’s the last 2 slides here!)
To be honest, neither of us have really wrapped our heads around the pathology report. With so many ups and downs during our cancer journey I think it is still sinking in. Not to mention we still aren’t quite done yet, with daily radiation on the horizon. It’s a lot to process, but thankfully all good things (praise Jesus!)! I’m sure I will have more to say about all of this later, but for right now I’m all out of words. 🙂
5 Things I’m Loving
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
My favorite show is back!! If you haven’t watched season 1 of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, you need to stop what you are doing right now and start it!
Seriously, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The sets are amazing and don’t even get me started on the costumes… they are EVERYTHING. Also, if you loved Gilmore Girls, you’ll love MMM – it’s the same writers! Albeit, it’s a bit (or a lot!) more crass than Gilmore Girls, but nevertheless, worth it. Please tell me you’ll watch it!
New Favorite Staple
I picked up this blouse on Cyber Monday and it has quickly become a new go-to! The peplum is very flattering, the material keeps it’s shape, plus the buttons down the front are functional! It’s currently 50% off, under $45, and worth every single penny! I’ll be wearing this one all year long!
Notes: I have it in a size 4, could have most definitely gotten it in a size 2, but I like a looser fit! (see it in action here)
The Perfect Pink Polish
Essie just launched their new Gel Couture collection and the colors are AMAZING! This is the first collection in a long time that I would wear every single color in the collection. They are so, so pretty. The 6 new colors are perfect for an array of skin tones, but the Gossamer Garments is my favorite! It’s more of a sheer, so be prepared for 3 coats, but I promise you’ll LOVE it!
Also, if you didn’t know, pair the Gel Couture color with the GC top coat, and it will stay on for two weeks (without a light!) it’s amazing! HIGHLY recommend!
