My Dream Day at Loren Hope
Ah! This is such a fun post today and I’m so thrilled to finally be able to share it! Loren Barham is a good friend of mine who also happens to be a brilliant jewelry designer and founder of Loren Hope (visit her here). When she asked me to come and hang out at her studio, I couldn’t say “YES” fast enough! I kept telling all the people in her studio that it literally felt like I was in a dream. To be quite honest, I’ve had a girl crush on Loren for years now and to see her in her element was magic. She is undeniably gifted and it’s an honor to call her a friend!
One day on the phone, when planning our trip, Loren mentioned that we could make a pair of earrings together if I came up the Rhone Island. I just about had a heart attack. I asked her if we could bring our camera and film our visit so that when she’s SUPER famous (I mean let’s be real, she’s already famous) I will have video proof that we were friends first. She sweetly agreed, but knew no matter what that I was bringing the camera! I mean, come on, everyone wants an obnoxious friend like me, right?! ha! Anyway, we had the best day catching up, playing with gemstones, and creating pretty things. So I hope you enjoy the video… Per usual there are bloopers at the end : )
We started the afternoon looking at her Swarovski collection and dreaming up designs… Sounds dreamy, right? It was.
Loren had her new collection laid out and it was so much fun to see as a whole. This collection was inspired by Charleston, SC! See more here!
Starting the design process was so much fun. There is definitely a technical side to jewelry design, but the overarching concept is simple. Other than a few helpful tips from Loren, I just mixed and matched until things really started to mesh together. I love the way our creation turned out and these will forever be a pair of earrings I treasure.
I can’t say it enough, it was such a magical day! Thank you so, so much, Loren, for hosting me.
I hope you can jump over to LorenHope.com and see for yourself how amazingly talented she is, and maybe even pick yourself up something you love… I pinky promise you won’t regret it! If you need inspiration, below are a few of my LH favorites.
