Okay, have you heard about “freak shakes”? It seems like I keep seeing them just about everywhere! If you don’t know what I’m talking about… omg click here! Aren’t they so fun? I have been dying to try and create my own version of a “freak shake”, because honestly how cute would it be to have a “make your own freak shake bar” at your next backyard BBQ?! Seriously, you’d be the talk of the town.
Anyway, a few weeks ago my bestie, Danielle, came over, and we decided to try our hand at whipping one of these magical shakes up. I can pretty much talk Danielle into anything, and vice versa, so when I told her what we were going to do she was so on board. I can’t share a recipe with you without trying it first, so we were happy to be the guinea pigs on this one. Plus, Ryan downed a whole one by himself. So, they’re good, have no fear!
And to be honest, the best thing about a freak shake is there really isn’t one way to make one… so do what ever makes you happy! I had a bottle of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in Banana Pudding that I really wanted to use, duh, so I worked around that! Here’s what’s in this magical shake:
- 1.5 oz of Jackson Morgan in Banana Pudding
- Whipped Cream
- Maraschino Cherries
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Cake Donuts
- Chocolate Chips
- Caramel Sauce
- Vanilla Wafers
We ended up just layering in the ingredients, crushed wavers, chocolate chips, whipped cream, caramel sauce, ice cream, etc, etc. At the end, we poured the Jackson Morgan on top before topping the whole thing off with whipped cream and extra toppings!
To say it turned out delicious is a total understatement! They were INCREDIBLE! Seriously, ditch the ice cream sundae bar at your next party and do a freak shake bar….. waaaaayyyy more fun!
You’ll have to keep me updated, and let me know if you make them! I would LOVE to hear what you think!
