Girl’s Weekends are the Best Weekends!
I thought today I’d give you a little peek into our girl’s trip this past weekend! On Friday morning my mom, sister, and I packed up our duffles and hit the road for a good old fashioned girls trip. I can not even begin to tell you how much fun we had. We laughed until our cheeks hurt, shopped until the stores closed, and ate at some of the best restaurants in the South. I honestly cannot believe that we don’t do this more often, and we vowed on our way home to make this a tradition! Because, let’s be real… there is NOTHING better than girl time!
We decided a few months ago that Charleston was where we wanted to go, but lucky for us, Savannah is on the way! So we stopped in Savannah for a bite to eat and just a bit of shopping.
If you are in the Savannah area I would HIGHLY recommend Collins Quarters. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the service, and don’t even get me started on the decor! This restaurant was recommend to me by my friend Sally, I’m SO glad she told us about this fabulous place. I am already planning my next trip back! So. Good.
Side Note: My sister has severe Gluten and Dairy allergies, so finding a place that is good, nice, helpful, and accommodating can be difficult and frustrating… all of these restaurants that I will mention here in this post were AMAZING! And if you too have a food allergy, know that these places are safe and wonderful! You must go!
After lunch we stopped by The Frayed Knot for a bit of yarn shopping. You may have seen on Snapchat that my mom has become addicted to knitting! She knitted the entire 5 hour trip to Charleston, so by the time we got to Savannah she was ready for a new project! If you are a knitter, you must stop by this sweet shop! You’ll be in heaven.
Early Saturday morning we got up and headed down to the Charleston Farmer’s Market, one of my favorite places! On this particular trip we each picked one place/thing/activity that we wanted to do, and my mom picked the Charleston Farmer’s Market! We had the best time just strolling around. We got iced coffee, fresh honey, and a few other things. Even though it was 267 degrees outside, there was no place I would have rather been!
After the Farmer’s Market we strolled around Kings Street and popped into a few of my favorite places:
Black Tap Coffee (dairy and gluten free options available!)
Jenni’s Ice Cream (dairy and gluten free options available!)
… and so many more!
After a full day of shopping we headed back to our hotel and got all gussied up for dinner at Cannon Green!
Okay, so let’s just talk about Cannon Green here for a second. First, OMG it was so good… SO GOOD in fact that we went back for brunch on Sunday morning (seriously.)! Not only was the food amazing, but they took super great care of us and really worked with all of our gluten and dairy restrictions! I honestly can not say enough great things about this place! You need to stop what you are doing right now and GO.
On Sunday we took it slow after brunch. We walked around town and through neighborhood, just taking in all of Charleston’s Charm! We couldn’t get the prettily painted homes and just about died over this pink one!
Late Sunday afternoon we hopped on over to Candlefish to take a candle making workshop! If you haven’t done this before, you totally should! We had the best time pretending to be Chandlers! Also, it was such a great break from the heat. The workshop took a little over an hour and we walked out knowing all sorts of candle things we didn’t know before PLUS two handmade candles! It was the best.
P.S. This was my one activity pick for the trip!
After our candle workshop we headed to Taco Boy for dinner! If you haven’t been to Taco Boy, you’ve got to go! It’s a Charleston staple, plus… it’s got plenty of gluten and dairy free options! Once we finished with dinner we hopped on over to Rainbow Row. It’s all the way down by Battery Park and it is magical! It’s the land of of all the pastel panted homes your heart could possibly desire. I could have stayed and walked around for hours! It’s a Charleston MUST SEE!
I convinced my mom and sister that our last night of our epic girl’s trip would not be complete without doing a spa night in our matching pajamas! So that is just what we did! Honestly, I’m not sure I have ever laughed so hard in my entire life!! Also, how CUTE is this photo?!?! I will forever be grateful for the “self timer” button on my camera. HILARIOUS.
On Monday morning we made one last stop at The Daily for breakfast, almond milk lattes, and green smoothies! This was another AWESOME GF/DF place, I highly recommend it! Not only was the food delicious, but the vibe was really cool! I will definitely be going back.
P.S. This was Kyla’s restaurant pick for the trip!
To say we had a good time would be a total understatement! Road trips are the best, especially when taken with your forever girl squad!
P.P.S. Thank you to ALL of you who snapped me so many great places to visit while in Charleston! You are THE best!!
