All you need is a little lipstick!

Fall is literally right around the corner (actually is 1 week away from today!) which means it’s officially time to switch up your look from Summer to Fall! Now, before you freak out on me, let’s talk about some really easy ways to “Fall-up” your look with out investing in a whole new wardrobe! Especially for those of us who are still living in 90 degree heat, the last thing we want to do is put on a pair of riding boots and cable knit sweater…. we are still wearing bikinis for heaven’s sake!

The easiest way to transition into Fall is by first swapping out your beauty! It’s time to put away those glossy peachy-pink lipsticks and pull out those plums! I recently freshened up my lipstick drawer (yes, I have a drawer… I may have a slight problem) with Elizabeth Arden’s brand new Beautiful Color Bold Liquid Lipstick.

First off, let’s just talk about my Elizabeth Arden lipstick obsession, it is oh-so-real. I use a handful of lipstick brands on the regular and Elizabeth Arden, is definitely at the tippity top of that list. Their lipsticks are highly pigmented, smooth, and not at all drying, not even their matte lipsticks! So when I heard about their new “liquid lipstick” I was ALL about it!

I’d like to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the new line, but that would be a total lie, I knew I’d like it. Like I said before, I’ve never met a EA lipstick I didn’t like!

The Darling Beige, Lavish Pink, and Seductive Magenta are by far my favorite and ever since the beginning of September I’ve been wearing these three by themselves or mixed together.

The colors are still bright (which I love) but with a plum undertone that really lends itself to Fall.

But before we get into exactly what I used to switch up my look for Fall, I wanted to show you a comparison:

Before – Summer Look

Like you can see, same light blue dress, same accessories (or in this case lack there of! Ha!), same EVERYTHING. The only thing that will change is my make-up! But, clearly this is the perfect “Summer Look” sheer pink lips, light eyes, etc. The whole thing screams Spring and Summer!

and then…

After – Transition to Fall Look:

Here is the after! Here’s what changed: I applied darker lipstick, liquid eyeliner, and liquid highlighter for a more bold and in season look… no outfit change needed! The best, right?!

Okay, so let’s talk about what just happened…

Step 1: Apply Liquid Highlighter

I use highlighter during every season because I like to sparkle like a Disney princess, but during the Summer months I use a powder highlighter that is a bit more subtle. During Fall/Winter, I REALLY like to sparkle, so I use a liquid highlighter and EA’s Beautiful Color Bold Illuminating Liquid Highlighter is an AWESOME one! I apply it to the tops of my cheek bones and bridge of my nose.

Tip: Also, I am not even sure if the professionals would tell you to do this or not, but I also put highlighter on the tops of my shoulders/collar bone/and, on my shins! Like I said, I’m all about the sparkle.

Step 2: Layer on the Liner

Thick lashes are and most likely will ALWAYS be in style, and one of my favorite ways to make that look happen is liquid eyeliner. Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Color Bold Defining 24HR Liquid Eye Liner is all kinds of serious. It LEGIT lasts for 24 hours, not even kidding!

Now, to be honest, I have an arsenal of liquid liners that I like to use and I hadn’t ever put an Elizabeth Arden liner into rotation before. But friends, this is my new, favorite skinny liquid eyeliner. The tip is ultra thin, thinner than any other liner I have ever used, and I love the way I’m able to create a really subtle cat eye… because for this look, I am all about the lips!

Tip: Liquid liner takes practice, but don’t be afraid of trying! You can totally do it!!

Step 3: Put on those lips!

Now, this is where your look will really transform, so don’t be afraid of the color! If I had a nickel for each time someone told me that they were nervous about wearing bold lipstick I would buy a pony.

Friends, just do it. I PROMISE you will love it and you will feel all kinds of “I-am-woman-hear-me-roar” like when you do.

Tip: If you are still nervous about a bold lip (even after my pep talk) then buy the color you really want to wear and the color shade below it! That way you will be able to blend your way into it.

… And now you are Fall ready!

Just three simple little tricks to take your look from Summer to Fall without breaking the bank! I hope you try this super EASY look out and let me know what you think.
