Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith

If you are looking for romantic, thoughtful, and feel-good read, look no further! I fell in love with this book from the first time I picked it up and could hardly put it down. I found myself swept away in the characters budding romance and their journey to find their themselves as they flee the nest and step into adulthood. This book is such a sweet adventure, one that will have you booking a train ticket immediately after you finish.

This is the perfect Saturday afternoon book.

What It's About
Hugo is reeling from a break-up when he realizes that the cross country train trip he has planned with his (now ex-) girlfriend is booked in her name and it's nontransferable.  He decides to take to the Internet to find another Margaret Campbell  and then he meets Mae.  Mae is working through her rejection from USC Film School and doesn't know what to do next, so she decides to take Hugo up on the offer of a free vacation. Hugo and Mae are both looking for an escape and their arrangement blossoms into something more. But what happens when the train stops?

About Ashley Brooke on www.ashleybrookedesigns.com

This book was utterly romantic, thoughtful, and down right sweet. I fell in love with the characters from the get go and was captured by their journey to find both themselves and each other. This is a book you won't want to put down.

I love YA Romance--there I said it! This sweet story totally captured my heart. Maybe it's because I met my husband as a teenager but I was so invested in Mae and Hugo's relationship and could not wait to see what happened between them and what each character ultimately decided to do in their own lives.

This book is seriously the cutest. I loved watching the characters grow in such a short amount of time, and loved watching their relationship develop. Sometimes a happy read is all you really want in life & this was definitely one!

This book was SUPER easy to get through. Although working and reading during busy season is hard – I managed to get through it in three days. Definitely an easy read – very similar to your old pick of Love and Gelato. I see a trend of cute little romances – from this one to The Royal We to Love and Gelato. Although this wasn’t my FAVORITE of the three so far – I will say it was nice to get my head out of reality for a cutesy romance novel.

Looking forward to next month’s book!
