    1. Did you think Ty would end up being Josie’s love interest?

YES. I knew right off the bat, but I wasn’t sure how it was going to come together! I felt like they had too many sparks not to be meant for one another!

    2. How did you feel about Josie finding her mom at Juilliard?

DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! Seriously, I was like, wait, WHAT?! Loved this twist at the end… also felt like it was a great set up for book two! 😉

    3. Josie was a really strong protagonist in this story. She overcame a lot to get where she is. What inspires you the most about her?

I just loved her attitude no matter what. Brave and strong.

    1. Did you think Ty would end up being Josie’s love interest?

Yes!! I just didn’t know how it would all work out.

    2. How did you feel about Josie finding her mom at Juilliard?

I was totally surprised!! As I was reading that part, I gasped because I didn’t see that coming.

    3. Josie was a really strong protagonist in this story. She overcame a lot to get where she is. What inspires you the most about her?

I love her relationship with her daughter. Even though they disagreed at first, you can tell they have a solid foundation. Josie was able to see in the end that she did a wonderful job raising Etta. Really inspiring to me as I have a daughter, too.

    1. Did you think Ty would end up being Josie’s love interest?

I did actually, I’m really proud of myself! haha. I guessed fairly early on that perhaps they were not actually the dads and a couple, and were just pretending. Ty seemed way too interested in Josie, and his lack of interest in the school besides for Josie being there. I loved his character so much, how he bonded with Aunt Viv, and I picture him fitting really well with their family.

    2. How did you feel about Josie finding her mom at Juilliard?

Okay this surprised me! I loved that it was more of a mother/daughter/family relationship story than just a love story. It was about Josie gaining confidence, and finding out about herself, her relationship with her daughter and having to come to turns with her own past and past challenges and how it was affecting her current choices and relationships. That all came together so nicely, and then took an even deeper turn when it seems she will also be able to reconcile with her mother and add that dimension to her family of strong women. These are the types of characters we need in literature!!

    3. Josie was a really strong protagonist in this story. She overcame a lot to get where she is. What inspires you the most about her?

I found her inspiring for so many reasons! Everything she did for herself and her family was so brave, and how is a strong woman for herself and her daughter. I can imagine how scary it must have been to be all alone oversees and realize she was pregnant, and then move home and start over, and how scary it must be to support your family and not have someone to fall back on. I find her actions inspiring. Josie had to realize that she should speak up for herself at work, and take chances in her personal life, and not let things that have happened in her past hold her back. She is so inspiring that she worked so hard to get where she is, so it is no surprise that Etta is amazing too, and is following her dream to be a dancer. I loved the continuum of all of the amazing women in the family; Aunt Viv taking a chance by moving to San Francisco everything Josie did for herself and her family, and now Etta pursuing her dreams. I thought all three women were very inspiring!

    1. I’ll admit that at the very beginning I wasn’t sure that Ty was for Josie, they fooled me for a little bit. But as time went on, he and Josie had too much chemistry and he was too invested in the Bordelon family to just be a friend.

    2. When Josie’s mom ended up being a counselor at Juilliard I was FLOORED. I thought Ty being straight was “the big reveal,” I never considered there would be another even bigger surprise! I thought it was interesting that Josie saw her self as so different from her mother for being a present parent and raising her daughter but there ended up being career similarities between her and Ophelia.

    3. There was so much to love about Josie! I think my favorite thing and the thing I was most inspired by was her ability to be strong and still as for help. She asked Aunt Viv for help with Etta but continued to chase her dreams and create a life for herself. Despite disappointments and set backs she continues to put herself out there and is willing to be vulnerable, knowing that doesn’t make her weak.

Who do y’all think would play Ty and Nan in a movie? I was getting MAJOR Kathy Morningside vibes from Nan so I pictured Candice Bergen but who could pull off the roll of Ty??
