Two Rooms & A Giveaway
I am so excited today to be teaming up with my friend Paige from The Pink Clutch and Frontgate on our room refreshes! (plus a $500 giveaway – see below!).
We each had a room in our homes that was in desperate need of attention. For her, it was her guest room (see her post here!) and for me it was most definitely our dining room. So we set out to re-design and re-fresh. Over the past few months we’ve exchanged hundreds of texts, phone calls, and e-mails as we went through the design process. Honestly, it was so much fun to do together!
Paige is a brilliant design + lifestyle blogger, so I loved having her on speed-dial to get her input and honestly, I’m obsessed with what we ended up on. The best thing about our team up is that though Paige and I have different aesthetics, we love each-other’s vibe. This is the first time I’ve re-done a room along side a friend, but it won’t be the last! Because anytime I got stuck I’d shoot her a text and vice versa, it was awesome.
I don’t think you can ever officially “finish” a room because your home is supposed to be a forever project, but I love seeing this room refresh reveal! And now that I’m looking at it through a lens… I’m thinking we need some grasscloth wallpaper and curtains…But until then, come over for dinner, the dining room’s ready!
Before & After
Before you see the before and after photos, let me just say we’ve had the HARDEST time with our dining room for years. I wanted to show you this, even though it’s cringe worthy. It’s amazing how a few things can really change a room. I mean, LOOK!!

My Thought Process
As I mentioned earlier, it has been the room in our home that never quite “worked” — too many statement pieces like the framed Heremès Scarf (that now happily lives in my office) to the painting my dad did of Ryan and I, to the funky light-fixture that is cool in theory, but never was quite right.
When we embarked on this refresh we decided to keep our favorite pieces in the room and move everything else out. For us the painting of Ryan and and our dining room table & chairs were what we loved the most. Everything else could move somewhere else.
Going for warm, Airy, and Inviting
Once we took everything out, we realized that this room had potential to be warm, airy, and bright if we took advantage of it! So we stayed away from our go-to color blue and leaned into to warm tones… and I’m so glad we did!
We picked up this stunning accessory box and large cream vase as our first accessories. Then I stumbled across these gorgeous flower pints that are even MORE lovely in person than you can imagine. These three things started the vibe of our room and then, I saw, the rug.

The Pattern Rug
This rug is by FAR my favorite new piece in the room. It’s warm, cozy, but also brings in the color. I am so obsessed with it. Rugs are hard and finding one that you love isn’t easy, so I consider this a trophy worthy find. It really is THAT good.
Also, Dolly loves it. I find her cozied up under the table in the afternoon. It’s her favorite little spot!

The Bar Cabinet
The bar cart is an old Frontgate find from last year, but they currently have a few similar ones and I cannot say enough great things about it. I love having all of our bar ware and bottles tucked inside this pretty chest. It keeps the room from looking too cluttered and, honestly, it made me nervous to see any of my friends’ little ones teetering around the old bar cart. It felt like an accident waiting to happen.
Plus, Ryan LOVES it. Truly this is the most “Ryan” thing we have in our home. ha!

The Chandelier
And after searching high and low, we finally found a light fixture that was simple and classic that didn’t make me want to poke my eyeballs out. I’m so glad we eded up with this one (26″ diameter size + hand rubbed antique brass) and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for one!
All and all we love our new room and can’t wait to entertain this Summer!

$500 Frontgate Giveaway!
But, enough about me, guys… Frontgate is giving YOU a chance to win your very own refresh, so make sure you enter in the giveaway below! Because we could all use a little Summer design update!

I love the changes you made in your dining room! The new light fixture is just right and I really really love the new rug. Good choices. Also, the cabinet instead of the cart is wonderful. So neat looking! Good job. On Paige’s page (that’s weird to say), did I miss a before picture? I’ll have to go back and check it out again. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
