We Met in December by Rosie Curtis
I’ve been dreaming about our December selection ever since we launched the book club back in February. I’m a sucker for a good holiday read and honestly I think it may be my favorite genre, so when we stumbled across this book I knew it was the one… I was hooked from the very start! Even though this book isn’t strictly Christmas-y, it does begin and end in December and gives you all the cozy vibes throughout. The story is sweet, and honest, and feels like real life in the best way. I know you are going to love closing out 2019 with this one!
It’s December and Jess is moving to London to share a crumbling mansion with roommates in Notting Hill. She is immediately attracted to Alex but the “no dating roommates” rule means he is off limits. And when Jess returns from holiday he seems to have taken up with Emma, another flatmate, in spite of the rules. Over the course of the next year we watch Jess and Alex (and their house mates) live their lives as they encounter disappointment and triumph in work and in love.

I almost always read hard copies of our books for book club but because of some travel I opted to listen to this one on Audible and the narration is incredible! I felt even more connected to these lovable characters. I loved, loved, loved this book and I’m so glad I chose to listen to the audiobook version!
Everyone loves a good holiday romance, and this one does not disappoint! It’s such a realistic story about life and love, while satisfying that sweet hallmark movie itch. The characters are honest and relatable- you will love them instantly!
