Restyling Colorful Closet Staples

Matching Rainbow Row

I used to wear all the colors all the time. I was a walking, bright Hallmark card and it was fun! Now I pretty much stick to the blues, pinks, and creams, which feels more “me” at the moment, but every once in a while I bust out a bold look like this and I remind myself how much fun it is to quite literally match a rainbow

A few weeks ago while we were in Charleston I woke up feeling bold and put on this outfit and without a second thought walked right out of our hotel room! I don’t know about you, but I’m totally an emotional dresser and when I pack for a trip, I end up packing everything I own. It’s both good (on days like these) and bad! On a whim, I threw in this fun sweater and knife pleat skirt thinking, just maybe, I’d get the chance to wear it.  Then boom I woke up that morning and couldn’t think of anything else I wanted to wear more. I love when that happens!

Midi Skirt

The great thing about this look is that it’s a totally versatile use of my colorful staples! This sweater was from Talbots a few months ago (similar here) and I’ve had this skirt from ASOS for actual YEARS now (similar here). I’ve worn both of them more than a 1,000 times, just never together like this, but I have to say, this is by far my favorite look!

I love mixing and matching fun closet staples like this and creating something totally new.

This post resonates with me so much! In my case, I used to wear outfits that were so much more interesting than basic jeans and tees that rock on the daily now. Sometimes when I pair things in a different way or incorporate a funky piece of jewelry or colorful shoes, I feel like my old self!!
