A Dream Trip
Early Monday morning I flew up to Charleston to spend the week shooting Draper James’ holiday collection, and guys it was a dream trip. Charleston is one of my favorite cities and Draper James is one of my favorite brands, so truthfully it was a match made in heaven.
I was so honored to be apart of the shoot, but more than that, get to know the men and women behind the scenes who make it all happen. It truly was such a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to see the photos from the holiday shoot go live over the next few months!
But until then… here’s a little behind the scenes sneak peek….
A Peek Behind The Scenes!
During the trip we stayed at two hotels, The Wentworth Mansion and The John Rutledge House. Both properties were out of this world, but y’all The Wentworth Mansion was INSANE. I kept telling the staff that they must have mixed me up with someone else because my room was something straight out of Downton Abbey. I mean, just look at that parlor I had IN MY ROOM. If that isn’t crazy I don’t know what is. I felt like an actual Queen, and honestly, I didn’t hate it! The hotel staff told me that George and Martha Washington once staid in my room. All. the. chills.
I’m 100% coming back and bringing Ryan with me!!
The hotels, the clothes, and the food were all amazing, but these people are what ended up stealing the show! I left Charleston with a handful of new best friends, and if that isn’t a sign of a good trip, then I don’t know what is!
Photoshoot Behind The Scenes
Like I mentioned, I was in Charleston to shoot the holiday collection with Draper James, meaning the holidays came early! We are talking Christmas trees, twinkle lights, stockings, and champagne! This was just one of our many locations and it was extra dreamy!
I can’t share and details on exactly what we shot till November 4th… but I can tell you that it’s so good! I’m so looking forward to the collection launch, I know you will love it!
We did pause the shoot for a little fun on Tuesday and hopped over to Candlefish for a candle making class. We had SO much fun, and I can’t recommend the class enough! I did one a few years ago with my mom and sister and it was the highlight of our trip. Make note the next time you are in town (or in Atlanta!) to sign up for a class. You won’t regret it!!
And in case you were wondering, I went with #28!
Oh, The Food
This trip was as much about the food as it was anything else. Number one reason why I love these Draper James women, they know how to eat! ha! We kicked off our trip at Darling Oyster Bar and it was all down hill from there! We made stops at Leon’s, Basic Kitchen, Miller’s All Day, and Circa 1886. To say we ate well would be an understatement.
Getting to know these girls was by far the highlight of this trip! I was so honored to be included in a shoot with these two beautiful ladies and loved our late nights bonding over champagne and funny dog videos.
