Mother’s Day is on Sunday, and I love gifting my favorite ladies little homemade bouquets. Ryan and I have been putting these together for Mother’s Day ever since we got married a few years ago (here’s last years!), and it’s become our tradition. Today I thought I’d show you how you can whip one (or a few!) of these up this weekend too!
A few weeks ago I was introduced to a company called Sticker You, and I instantly fell in love. I dare you to fine something more fun than creating your own stickers. Honestly, the options are endless. It my be my Lisa Frank sticker obsession as a child that has me still sticker-obsessed, but needless to say… the draw to stickers is real.
I Love A Good Wreath!
First off, Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!! I hope today is filled with candy, flowers, and all things pink! And secondly, today is wreath day…. and I am pumped! We shot this little wreath DIY tutorial a few weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to share it with you! I’m all about Valentine’s Day, but I hate buying a wreath that is V-day specific that I really can only use for like, two weeks! So my goal with this wreath was to make it more of a spring wreath. That way I can have it up for February, but leave it up for a while after… because let’s be real, these things take time!
It’s Getting Festive!
A few weekends ago I was in a creative rut, like a serious one. I totally HIT A WALL, and realized that I needed to get out of the house and do something creative with my hands, and thats when I found myself at Micheal’s. We had a Micheal’s store open up by our house over a year ago and I had yet to visit… I know, embarrassing! Anyways, as soon as I stepped foot in the door I kicked myself for not coming in sooner, this was just what I needed to get out of my rut. I went into the store not knowing what I would make, and ended up walking out with a car FULL of Fall goodness on a mission to create my first ever DIY wreath.
Gallery Wall Magic
Okay, so… can we just talk about how romantic and magical gallery walls seem UNTIL YOU TRY AND DO ONE YOURSELF. Seriously though, WHY are they so hard?! Especially when Pinterest mocks you and makes you feel like you need an art wall in your house that is perfectly curated with the mix of new and old, trendy and weird, etc. etc… I mean honestly, where do you even start to try and pull that off? Thrift stores? Art galleries? Garage sales? Ebay? and not to mention, who has time for that?!
In all reality, I just want something pretty on my walls, and I hate to say it… but time is of the essence. And THAT my friends is where Minted comes in.
It’s All About The Tape!
I’d like to think I know what I’m doing when it comes to arranging flowers… but in all reality, it can be way more art than science! But I have still picked up a few helpful tricks over the years that I tend to use over and over again, and it makes all the difference…Here’s a few you can try!
A Perfectly Painted Dessert
A few weeks ago I was scrolling through Pinterest and I stumbled upon a post about DIY painted macaroons and thought, how pretty! A few days went by, but I couldn’t stop thinking about painting macaroons! Is it easy? Could I make it look as pretty? What would I use painted macaroons for? The list went on and on, and then I finally just bought a whole bunch of them at Whole Foods and figured I’d give it a whirl!
