They’re Coming! They’re Coming!
Simple ways to say, welcome!
Both my husband and I have large families–like SERIOUSLY large. If we had the energy, we could do some sort of family something just about every single night of the week, no lie. And during the holidays, OMG it is BANANAS. We start gearing up, carb loading, and packing extra Gatorade to make it through the marathon that is the holiday season! And to be clear: this is my favorite time of year. I don’t hate the hustle and bustle one little bit, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t get prepared ahead of time!! I start list-making, calendar-marking, and creative-scheduling starting early November to make sure that we are ready for all that November and December bring, and that includes giving our guest room a little refresh!
There are a few things I like to do to make sure I am prepared for all of those out of town guests–and those inevitable surprise guests! The first thing that is on my list is fresh sheets and towels. Thank goodness for Parachute Home and their AMAZING simple and gorgeous bedding. It makes putting together a quick guest room refresh super easy and quick! Crunched for time but know the room needs (and your guests deserve) a little zhushing? The answer is Parachute. If you’ve never slept on Parachute sheets, you aren’t living. They stand by one simple rule: “Buying bedding should be as enjoyable as your best night of sleep.” Alright, well, I’m sold!
Isn’t their packaging amazing?!
Parachute aims to provide premium quality bedding (two thumbs up on that) at a price that won’t break the bank (two thumbs WAY WAY up on that). You also spend a 1/3 of your life in bed (for some reason I think I’m missing out on this percentage?!!?!), so why not go above & beyond for your guests? It’s like a #treatyoself moment–after all the ‘treating yo’self’ you’ve been doing by way of candy canes & Christmas cookies, don’t lie–when you fall into bed and actually don’t EVER want to get up. Parachute sheets have a lived in feel right out of the package too, so really it’s a win-win-win.
The next thing I do is gather a few goodies for gift baskets! I know this may sound extra cheesy, but no one, NO ONE has ever said, “Gosh I just so wish they wouldn’t have left me a gift basket!” So for that reason, I gift basket, and I am proud (and YES–gift basket is a verb). It takes, like, zero effort! The next time you are at Target pick up some candy bars, snacks, water, and magazines to have on hand, and then when you order those sheets: snag a blanket or a candle (oh, and of course some ABD mugs, because it isn’t a gift basket without some of our mugs.) Can we talk about how amazing it will be for your guests to cuddle up with a cashmere throw on Christmas morning, and then fight off that undeniable airplane chill with said throw on the flight back home? The gift that keeps on giving. Do this and voila! You are ready, and Martha Stewart has NOTHING on you. So there.
P.S. Looking for great snacks? Use the code ABD10 on NourishSnacks.com for 10% off… I live for these little packets! Amazing!

The very last thing on my guest room prep list that I like to make sure I do–fresh flowers! Even if it is just one pretty little sunflower, it makes a world of a difference.
Ta-da! You are done and your guests are going to feel so fancy!
