One Epic Girl’s Night
Last night my best friend, Deanna, and I headed to our 1 zillionth concert together and it was a night I’ll never forget. First off, let me just say that I’d HIGHLY recommend finding a bff like Dee. She is legitimately ALWAYS a good time, ALWAYS there for you when you need her, ALWAYS your biggest fan, and ALWAYS has the best concert tickets. Seriously, it doesn’t get much better than Dee. We’ve been thick as thieves since I was 14 and she was 18, so over our 16-year BFF-ness we have lived a lot of life together and we’ve been to A LOT of concerts together.
One of my favorite quirks about Dee is that she was and still is the biggest boy band fan there ever was. I’m so serious! I’ve never met anyone more committed to the boy bands than her and it’s just fun to be around. In college she managed to get herself backstage at many a concert, into a handful of after parties, and even made it into an O-Town (remember them!?) music video. This is why I love her, she does nothing halfway.
I’ve don’t have the superfan gene in me, but I love nothing more than watching her in her element. And over the years of our friendship she’s turned me into a fan right alongside her. So when she calls me and says “Ash, I have floor seats to the JT concert on Monday, do you want to be my date?” you say “YES” and plan for the most epic of nights.
Her husband, Adam, ended up going out of town on a last minute work trip so I ended up getting to be her lucky plus one.
Last night was our third Justin Timberlake concert together and I’d equate it to taking a Minie Mouse obsessed 3-year-old girl to Disney. Her eyes light up and it’s kind of the cutest thing ever. We danced the night away and drank vodka sodas like we were back in college. I’ll be forever thankful Adam had to go out of town so I could experience yet another Justin Timberlake concert with her.
P.S. Dee, I love you… but let’s be real, you already knew that! 😉
