The Perfect Easter Cupcake

I’ve been whipping up little treats in preparation for our Easter Sunday brunch this weekend, and one of the things I decided to make was cupcakes! I wanted to make them semi-pinterest-y without going crazy AND  without having to make a run to the grocery store, because that right there is kind of my least favorite thing EVER. So after taking a little pantry inventory, I came up with these pretty and very simple pastel marble jelly bean cupcakes… AKA plain cupcakes with jelly beans on top. 

They actually turned out SO pretty and I can not wait to share them on Sunday! 

Here is a little step by step:

Grab your green, red, and yellow food coloring and place 2 dots of food coloring in each bowl… don’t over do it or your cupcakes will be primary colored!

Stir in the food coloring until it looks like the photo below… Do NOT over stir or you won’t marble effect! This is the most important part of this process!

Scoop all of the icing into sealable plastic bags and cut off the tip of the bag, making a wide hole.

Put a good dollop of icing on the top of each cupcake.

Take your icing spatula and smooth out the icing while being careful to not mix the icing too much… You don’t want to loose that marble effect!

Lastly, place corresponding jelly beans on top of each cupcake and voilà! You are ready to serve!
