Writing in Your Personal Style

Good Morning!  Happy Monday–I hope you had a great weekend.  It was lovely here in FL, yesterday was a little rainy, but it gave me some time to get organized for the week.   Those of you who know me, know I write just like I talk.  Lots and lots of enthusiasm!!  You don’t have to be a brilliant writer to write a great thank you note or note of correspondence.  Using your natural voice is the key.  Here are some tips to help you with that:

-Use phrases you would typically use
-Use contractions.  Say I don’t know, as you probably would in conversation, not I do not know.
-Feel free to insert the person’s name in your note: “Anna, you wouldn’t believe how much fun we had!”
-Use punctuation like exclamations (my favorite) or underline words for emphasis.
-Keep is as short a possible.  A brief note is better than a long, drawn out one.
