First, let me just say I’m really excited about this post for a few reasons; I love a good springtime make up look, L’Oreal’s new eye paints are amazing (seriously), and I drew this face chart for this post…I’m obsessed with it. Face charts have always been one of my favorite things. When I was little, I used to spend so much time dissecting the face charts my mom would come home with from the department store. They are just so interesting! I’ve never drawn one before, but when we shot the finished look I thought it might be fun to have a good “take home” item from this post, especially because I used drugstore beauty for this entire look. Who doesn’t love that?!
First off let me just preface this with, yes I do realize that this in not real life, and secondly… how do I make this my real all the time life?!
The Vanity Fair Young Hollywood Party was Tuesday night in L.A. and I’m here to tell you that yes, it is just as magical as you might have dreamed it would be. As you know, I’ve been working with L’Oreal this year, and this is my third event that I’ve attended as their guest. Each event just keeps getting better!
We travel fairly often, and I have always been a notoriously bad packer. I mean… really bad. I never have the right thing, or I always have too much of the wrong thing. But this year, I have vowed to become better at it. So instead of tackling the entire “become a better traveler” thing all together, I’ve decided to take it one category at a time. First up was my travel cosmetic bag! And I’m going to be 100% real with you, this has taken some time. But I’ve got it down pat, and I can travel knowing at least my make-up bag is in order!
Over on Pinterest I have been seeing so many pictures of the most gorgeous vanities! I feel like getting ready each day would be so fabulous. Putting on a simple outfit would be like getting pampered for the Oscars every morning. This chair, like the one above, makes any ordinary desk seem like the perfect vanity space! I love the simple impact a new space can make on your daily life.
Mascara is my favorite beauty product hands down. I have blonde eye lashes so I am very serious when it comes to mascara. It can’t be clumpy, flakey, or smudgy. It has to stay on all day (and in the humidity) and make my lashes look EXTRA long and extra dark. Mascara was the very first beauty product my mom let me wear, and I’ve been wearing it religiously ever since. Over the years, I’ve tried literally all the brands, but these three below are my most used and repurchased tubes of mascara of all time.
I’ve been working with L’Oreal for about six months now, and my heart has loved every day of those six months because there is little I love more in life than beauty products. I truly believe it’s the little things that can really make you feel pretty, like a brighter shade of pink lipstick or a new brown pencil that has changed your brow game. So any time I get the opportunity to talk about beauty products I have found and loved, I want to tell you about them ASAP!
Whether you like a bold lip or a subtle lip, one thing is for sure… we like it to stay on, especially during mistletoe season! Last month, L’Oreal came out with their brand new lip paints, and never have I been more excited about a product! The more I use them the more I fall in love with them, and over the past month I have these three (“Fearless Fuchsia“, “Spicy Blush“, and “DIY Red“) in complete rotation!
I’ve always been into the ribbon. Growing up my mom had a HUGE glass cookie jar full of ribbons of all colors and all sizes. My sister and I would put them in our hair, use as belts, or of course…as chokers (gah! Now that they’re back in style I wish I had saved all of those!)! We’d pick out ribbons that matched our outfits almost daily, and on the weekend our favorite thing to do was go to the ribbon store and stock up. So to say we were ahead of the ribbon trend is a gross understatement. We were in ribbons 100% of the time.
Honestly, I had forgotten about them. Somewhere between college and up until recently my ribbon game slowed down… but just the other day I came across a photo on Pinterest and thought, that’s it.. I’m bringing my ribbons BACK!
So here are 5 simple ways to wear your hair in ribbons this Fall, but you know, without looking like a 4 year old!
Besides face masks (because honestly… who doesn’t love a face mask?) lipstick is most definitely my favorite beauty product! Lipstick can literally change everything for your look and I love it. Also, the fact that wearing a bold color makes you feel brave and all kinds of lady like makes me like it even more! Every season I find a handful of lipsticks that I end up using over and over again. So far this Fall, these three have been my starting line-up.
