I love this new little series that I started last month! I am always sharing my favorite new items with you over here, but after you’ve had something for a month… you REALLY know if it’s become a staple or not. And this Nespresso maker has definitely become a staple.
First off, Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!! I hope today is filled with candy, flowers, and all things pink! And secondly, today is wreath day…. and I am pumped! We shot this little wreath DIY tutorial a few weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to share it with you! I’m all about Valentine’s Day, but I hate buying a wreath that is V-day specific that I really can only use for like, two weeks! So my goal with this wreath was to make it more of a spring wreath. That way I can have it up for February, but leave it up for a while after… because let’s be real, these things take time!
You know how much we LOVE chick lit, so it should NOT come as a surprise that we also love chick flicks! We have a running list of favorite movies for each and every time of year, but we thought we would share our top 15 must-sees just in time for a serious movie marathon for Galentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day! Here’s your plan: pop some popcorn, get together with your best girlfriends (or your favorite guy!), and watch a bunch of our favorites! What could possibly be better?!
I love to entertain, it’s one of my very favorite things in life! There is nothing quite like a full house of your favorite people, good food, and cold champagne. But over the years of throwing countless parties, bridal and baby showers, I have learned the key to success are the shoes! Because let’s be real, the work of the hostess really starts early in the morning.
I have been loving the idea of mixing it up a little bit at the Thanksgiving table setting, and gold flatware seems perfect! I love gold flatware because it can have a modern twist while still looking very classic. There are so many options with table settings, here are a few ideas I am loving!
A few weekends ago I was in a creative rut, like a serious one. I totally HIT A WALL, and realized that I needed to get out of the house and do something creative with my hands, and thats when I found myself at Micheal’s. We had a Micheal’s store open up by our house over a year ago and I had yet to visit… I know, embarrassing! Anyways, as soon as I stepped foot in the door I kicked myself for not coming in sooner, this was just what I needed to get out of my rut. I went into the store not knowing what I would make, and ended up walking out with a car FULL of Fall goodness on a mission to create my first ever DIY wreath.
So here’s the deal about Florida. We have foyers, but not typically mud rooms… which is both weird and nice. It’s weird because OMG it is “muddy” here, especially during the rainy season… we track dirt, grass, and mud everywhere! But on the other hand, who doesn’t love a “foyer”?! Now don’t get me wrong, a foyer sounds extra fancy, but in our house, it is truly a glorified hallway/wall that we have to use as both a foyer (i.e. to welcome guests) and also to store boots, umbrellas, bags, leashes, and etc. To be honest, I have had to get pretty creative with the space. And not to mention, it opens up right into our dining room, so it REALLY cannot be messy!
After moving around our existing furniture every-which-way we could think to, we finally gave up and decided we needed a whole new look for the room!
Okay, so… can we just talk about how romantic and magical gallery walls seem UNTIL YOU TRY AND DO ONE YOURSELF. Seriously though, WHY are they so hard?! Especially when Pinterest mocks you and makes you feel like you need an art wall in your house that is perfectly curated with the mix of new and old, trendy and weird, etc. etc… I mean honestly, where do you even start to try and pull that off? Thrift stores? Art galleries? Garage sales? Ebay? and not to mention, who has time for that?!
In all reality, I just want something pretty on my walls, and I hate to say it… but time is of the essence. And THAT my friends is where Minted comes in.
It’s no secret that my love for coffee runs deep. I look forward to my morning and afternoon cup of coffee and I try my very best not to let anything get in the way of either of those things!
But I have to tell you that this whole morning coffee thing has been a bit of a struggle in our home recently and here’s why. My husband and I work together. We are literally in the same 10 x 10 room all day, but we still can’t get our coffee-drinking-time in sync. We’ve tried, seriously, we have…
